Our Staff

We are  excited to invest in our communities future by providing a quality education to its youngest residents. Help us to enrich the lives of those around us by volunteering in our facility.
Careli Cauthron

Despite what she may think, I admire my daughter for her creative mind. It just so happens that her artistic talent is much different than mine. It doesn't mean that I don't recognize it or appreciate it.

Careli does, however share my love of young children. For that, I'm grateful. I'm also thankful for her help in the process to accomplish my long awaited goal. I don't know what I'd do without her.

In appreciation of all that she has done, Careli Cauthron has been designated the official drama/music director for the next four years.

Careli has attended Aberdeen Middle School since 2013. She has been participated in the school musical productions and summer drama camp for the last two years, as well as participating in productions put on by the Aberdeen Arts council. She has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since she was 10 years old. She served as president of the Beehives before turning 14 earlier this year. She is active in young women's and hopes to go on a mission at the appointed time.

Starting in the fall, Careli plans to attend online classes at Idaho Connections Academy. She will also be dually enrolled at Aberdeen High School where she will attend classes in Choir, Musical, and Seminary. She will continue her focus on drama and music throughout high school and into college.

Careli aspires to attend Utah State University where she will major in Musical theatre and Interior Design.

Parent Volunteers

Parents who volunteer 40 hours before the end of the year will recieve a 10% discount off the yearly tuition rate. That would be a savings of $198 and a sense of knowing you made an impact on your child's educational future.

Parent volunteer forms are available to download below. They must be initialed by a staff member each time you visit in order for you to receive the 10% discount at the end of the year.

A volunteer schedule will be made available for those assisting with direct supervision at a later date. All volunteers must be scheduled so as not to disrupt classroom routine.

Tina Burton

I have a passion for two things: writing and teaching. Fortunately, my writing ability enables me to improve my teaching method. So, I've recently been inspired to do both. Teach and design teacher created materials.

My passions originally arose from a desire to be a mother, one which I was denied for ten years after being married in 1992. In 2002, I adopted a beautiful baby girl, who quickly became my pride and joy. Later, in 2007, I was blessed again. This time God granted me my heart's desire for a son. Now, I had my own children to guide and teach. Still, I had the desire to teach other children.

I graduated from high school in 1991 with honors. I attended Flint River College where I graduated with a 4.0 in Early Childhood Education. Later, I attended Idaho State University where I studied Special Education and Speech Pathology.

I have 20 years of experience teaching, ranging from birth to age 8. I did my student teaching in the infant room at Flint Tech's Tender Tech. I was hired to work at Tender Tech the semester before I graduated. Since, I have worked in several reputable daycares, as well as Aberdeen Elementary School.

Besides working at daycares and the school, I have also served several roles in the primary at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Before converting to the LDS religion, I also taught children's sunday school and participated in Vacation Bible School.

I also owned a home daycare business in Utah for a time. In that capacity I would sometimes provide quality care for up to 12 children at a time. That student/teacher ratio is not optimum, but quality care can be achieved with patience, persistence, and a bit of organization.

That is my goal as director of this school: to provide a quality education to all students.

Christy Hicks

My mom has been a part of this community since 1998. In that time, she has greatly impacted the lives of many. She may no longer reside here in Aberdeen, but she is still making a difference.

Her creative contributions will enrich the lives of every child who enters these doors. In appreciation of her time and effort, I honor her with a place on my staff wall as Director of Art and Design.

Born in Willacoochie, GA, Christy is a southern girl at heart. Her talent and class were obvious from a young age. Her high school home economics teacher discovered her talent and encouraged her to enter her projects into a local art exhibit where she gained even more of a following. One of her first paintings still hangs on the walls of the local bank in Roberta, GA.

Christy attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where she studied Special Education. She has two children on the autism spectrum, and has worked with individuals with disabilities.

Jessie Moncrief

No matter the struggles he faces, my brother wakes with a smile each day. The joy he brings into our lives is more than mere words could ever capture. His willingness to help is beyond measure. His ability may not match his willingness, but it matters little to me.

Despite his limitations, I would not have accomplished anything without him. Thanks, Jess for all you do.

Some may wonder what Jessie can bring to the table, but I urge to look beyond his weaknesses and consider his stregnths. He has adapted well to technology. He has an insurmountable knowledge of history and science concepts that even I have not yet mastered. And he has a willing attitude about most everything. What more can you ask for in a person?

Jessie loves Harry Potter, Scooby Doo, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He thrills us with his little known trivia facts on many occasions. His ability to retain information is beyond compare.

Community Volunteers

I encourage members of the Aberdeen community to visit our school and to volunteer in some capacity. Some helpful ways to volunteer include donating supplies from the supply list, assist in making teaching aides and toys (ex. laminate games, crochet character dolls or play food, or sew felt toys---I can provide patterns), assist with community productions, or direct supervision in the classroom or on field trips.
